Shifting Gears: Practical Tips for Teaching a Stage I Blended Class

Marijke Geurts and Dori Tarjan, Avenue project mentors and developers, provided a demonstration for instructors of Stage I classes (CLB 1-4) who may have worked with Stage II learners (CLB 5-8). This session helps them make the stage shift from two to one.
Dori and Marijke provided tips on facilitating a Stage I blended class and review the backwards planning model and look at which types of activities are best suited for CLB 1-4 learners. They also shared better practices and showcased two new CLB 1-2 units: Using Canadian Money and Paying for School Programs.
