Over the past six years, Avenue.ca has become the most visible and widely recognized part of our work. For many learners, educators, funders, and sector partners, Avenue is their primary point of interaction with our organization.

A small number of oversized and highly complex courses are creating significant strain on Avenue, affecting platform performance, user experience, and support operations. This new policy establishes guidelines for sustainable course design and maintenance, including recommended limits, lifecycle practices, and ongoing monitoring to ensure courses remain manageable and system performance is protected.
The Avenue platform was migrated to Moodle 4.5 in mid-November. Teachers and learners now enjoy a refreshed interface, enhanced navigation, streamlined grading and activity management, improved course editing tools, and greater accessibility for all.
In Mid-November Avenue will migrate from Moodle Version 3.10 to Moodle Version 4.5 and
Avenue will be unavailable to our learners and teachers.
Moodle 4.5 is the latest long-term supported (LTS) release of the world’s leading open-source
learning management system.
It brings a modern, intuitive interface, streamlined navigation, and enhanced tools for teachers,
learners, and administrators.
The upgrade ensures Avenue remains secure,
Just as FaceBook, Gmail and LinkedIn look different than they did five years ago, we must adapt with technology changes.
Moodle 4.5 allows us to keep updated with all features and have better system performance.
It also allows us to add more tools (more about that when these tools are ready).

We are delighted to announce the birth of a sibling for Avenue.ca. In October the project launched a new shiny platform where autonomous learners can learn English and orient themselves to Canada. CanAvenue.ca has the potential to fill a serious service gap for adult newcomers. Orientation to Avenue.ca is a brief, self-directed course created for TESL students, stakeholders, and interested language training professionals to help them understand how Avenue.ca is used and its role in Canadian immigrant settlement language training.
The Avenue team is happy to announce a leap forward in the ease and convenience of transferring eLearning resources from the Tutela repository to the Avenue.ca learning management system. Teachers with both Tutela and Avenue accounts can now reach into Tutela to grab Word or PDF documents, media files, or eLearning objects like H5Ps or SCORMs and add them to their Avenue course.
